Nothing is too small for Him!

A lot of us do not want to trouble God for the 'small' things. We 'reserve' God only for the 'BIG' things.

I think you know what I'm saying. When we face a problem, we would assess it. If it is something that is still within our ability to solve, we would not trouble God. If it is just a mundane irritant in our lives, we too would not want to trouble God. Things like waiting for a parking lot, to getting a good night's sleep. From a small problem at work to a small cold... if we think we can handle it, we don't want to trouble God?

Does God actually feel troubled? When we ask Him for little things? I think not. I think God loves it when we ask Him for ALL things... BIG and small. He has given us eternal rest... not just rest in the BIG things. Trusting God for the small things and mundane situations are training grounds for our faith. When we ask Him for the small things and look to Him for solutions to our mundane situations, we are building our faith. This way, when the BIG things come, our faith is strong.

Faith is not some weapon that you dig out of an old cupboard, blow away the dust covering it and use it when you really need to. It is more like a muscle, it's there inside of you... it's part of you. You need muscles for everything... to move a finger, to walk, to do your everyday mundane chores. The more regularly you exercise and use your muscles, the stronger your muscles get. It's the same about faith. The more you exercise your faith and use it, the stronger it gets.

Matthew 9:29Then He touched their eyes, saying, "According to your faith let it be to you."

Faith is the key to His blessings. Faith does not make things happen or appear, it gives you the ability to see and receive what is already given. How much faith you have will determine how much you can see/ receive.

Faith is where you put your focus. If you focus on yourself, you are putting your faith in yourself. If you focus on your works, you put your faith in what you have done. If you focus on your faith, you put your faith in your faith. You should not do that... because that is the wrong focus. But if you focus all the time on God's grace, God's goodness, God's ability, God's love and God's willingness, you are actually putting your faith in God's grace, goodness, ability, love and willingness. Then that is when God accounts it to you as faith. Like the Centurion with the sick servant, the woman with the issue of blood and the woman whose daughter was demon possessed, their focus was not on who they are, what they can do, what they have done, or even how much they believe. Their focus was plainly on Jesus, on His authority, on who He is and His willingness. For each of them, Jesus accounted it to their faith.

So, everyday, whatever comes your way, be they big or small, exercise your faith and focus on our Almighty God. Because I am very sure that He can do a lot better than you can.
